This title governs the process for merger of two or more contiguous parcels of real property into a resultant parcel or parcels which are fewer in number than those parcels existing prior to the completion of the merger through the elimination of one or more common boundary lines between the previously existing contiguous parcels. Recognizing that parcel mergers may affect existing land use patterns, plans, subdivision agreements, covenants, conditions and restrictions, and other or similar economic, social, health and safety issues of significant local impact, it is intended that this title be the exclusive mechanism for noncounty-initiated parcel mergers within Sierra County.
