General Settings

Settings dialog open to the General tab, including these settings: Table of Contents, Amount of Text on Each Page, Popup Previews, and Animation.

Choose “Left Sidebar” for the “Table of Contents” setting to display the Contents sidebar at all times while browsing the code. The default setting, “Separate Dialog,” only shows the Contents dialog when you click the Contents button in the main navigation bar.

The “Amount of Text on Each Page” defaults to “Smart”: each page of the site includes one section on smaller (phone or tablet) screens and several sections on larger (desktop or laptop) screens. You can choose “Less” or “More” to always include one section or several sections, respectively.

When you hover over or focus on a link to another part of this site, a preview of the destination will appear in a popup. If you do not want these previews, change the “Popup Previews” setting to “Off.”

This site uses subtle animations for actions like opening or closing a dialog. If you prefer fewer animations, change the “Animation” setting to “Reduced” to allow fading but not movement, or change it to “None” for no animations.

Site Appearance

Settings dialog open to the Appearance tab, including a preview of the chosen appearance and these settings: Font Family, Text Size, Line Spacing, and Color Theme.

In the Appearance tab of the Settings dialog, you can choose the font, text size, and line spacing that are most comfortable for you to read the code. The Preview area shows how the text will appear as you adjust the settings.

The “Color Theme” setting offers high-contrast and low-contrast alternate colors for the site, including dark options.
